JOB DESCRIPTION

Associate, The CORE Sports are a focal point in the lives of many worldwide, but especially in the United States. In grade school, the most popular dream job tends to be a professional athlete. Yet like many others, I realized early on that I don’t have the genes and skills necessary to hear my name called under the bright lights. Because of this, I looked to combine my passions for sports and business in a training heavy role in the Oakland Athletics CORE program, an innovative sports sales and business development academy. An Associate within The CORE is a person responsible for maximizing revenue for the Ticket Sales Department through sales of season tickets, group tickets, and suites. Associates also closely interact with high-level executives and perform projects under other departments. These are two aspects of the position that separates this program from the sales academies commonly found around the country. The open nature of high-level executives goes to show the suppo...

BOOK 1

Alex Banayan compares success in life and business to a nightclub. There's always the first door where most just hopefully wait. The second door opens for the VIPs. The Third Door is the alternative for the hustlers, those who are willing to think outside the box to find a way in.   In The Third Door , Alex Banayan carries out his mission to uncover how some of the most successful people championed their lives and industries. These characteristics resonate with me and I look forward to learning about his process of carving his own path. After reading the first two chapters and learning how he "hacked 'The Price Is Right'," I am already hooked. I'm inspired and eager to learn more about his quest and the anecdotes of...

WHO YOU ARE MATTERS

Welcome! I'm Scott Kunihiro, a 22-year-old from the Napa Valley. Being a triplet and the youngest of four, I like to think I come from a big family. Growing up, I played and followed sports and consider myself somewhat an aficionado on the matter. Today, as a business student graduating May, I'm pursuing my dream of becoming the Director of Corporate Partnerships for a professional sports franchise. Further down the line, I would love to develop improved and standardized financial literacy workshops for the professional sports leagues to raise awareness and relieve the alarming rates of bankruptcy and financial delinquency amongst pro athletes. I plan on obtaining these goals by obtaining a position with the Oakland Athletics, making connections within the sports business industry and earning CPA credentials. My father and I are stubborn and share a love for sports and 60's/70's R&B and Soul music, especially Motown. My dad's quite reserved, unlike myse...
